Ermahgerd

I AM SO STOKED. I'll be shooting my first wedding this Saturday at a very beautiful church and a very beautiful reception venue. Oh my goodness, think I'm gonna explode from the excitement. Need to practice on keeping a calm face or else everyone will think I'm mad. Hahaha I can't imagine myself on my own wedding day (if any), since I'm already like this for someone else's wedding. The only sad part is that I won't get to publicize any photos, because the couple wants them private. I just ordered my flashgun.

I WANT TO HUG SOMEBODY.

Family at heart

Here's a few photos of my outing with the Fairbrothers. Cat's family friends came too, and their daughters Rachel and Esther were very happy to see baby Ben.

Having a sister must be really fun
Rachel got stuck in the tree and couldn't come down
Lazy afternoon, mmm

I've had such a great time at the park, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get to go there again though. I would love to spend a whole day cycling around, but first I'll have to find out how to get there by bus.

TGI Monday

With the birthday girl and Komal

It's back to uni Monday.
Flash updates.

  1. Amrita turned 19 today, so she had her party at TGIF and we had dinner served at 10 p.m.
  2. I had to turn down my third photography opportunity today because I won't be here during summer.
  3. I was 5 minutes late for my first lecture because I woke up half and hour just before 9, but I am very proud of myself for making it there.
  4. I bought a journal with a very pretty cover for Amrita.
Have you ever shopped for a friend's birthday but you end up wanting to keep the present for yourself, so badly?

Sunny Day @ Clumber Park

My friend Ee Xuen and I were supposed to go to Clumber Park with our foster family yesterday, but Ee Xuen couldn't make it so I brought Jin Wun along with me. Since JW is graduating soon, I thought I should make a printed album for her as a gift before I leave for my break, while she stays on during summer to complete her PhD thesis. She doesn't know about her present yet, so this wasn't meant to be a photoshoot, and isn't at all (I'm planning to organise a proper one after my exams, so look out for that!).

When we got back in the evening, I thought about the sakura tree I passed by the other day, so I told JW about it and she liked the idea of going there for some photos (she's totally into instax). It's next to the football court on Uni Park campus if anyone's looking for a decent flowery location. Just ONE tree (not a full row nor anything dramatic and spectacular), to warn you first.

Savoury or sweet?

Cordycep flowers boiled with chicken and black dates
Lotsa herby chinese names in a bowl
Cordycep flowers soup is one of my favourites, besides water crest and some others. I don't know the name of the tong shui I made this week though, 'cos there are lotsa ingredients inside really. Black dates, longan, magnolia petals, the white soft strips and the yellowish crunchy strips - I can't remember the names now. All I do is switch my Skype on and my mom will instruct me around the kitchen, hee.

But between chinese soup or dessert tong shui, which do you prefer?

Day 2: Isle of Skye

My favourite day. We had the wackiest guide, and her name is Allison. First she made us play Poohsticks at a bridge that we passed by earlier, then at this little jetty she tried to make us step into the icy cold water. Lo and behold, don't be deceived by the generous amount of sunlight!

Also, because I was wearing skinny jeans, I couldn't roll them up at all. Smart right.

My mom was convinced that I was quite half mad
Guess who were the only two clever people who went into the water?
Allison and me!

And for that little stunt, I earned 300 points! Allison created this game where she would allocate points for things you do, e.g. answer her questions correctly after story telling (100 points if she's pleased, -10 if you're American, haha!), if you shut the van door as the last person to leave (10 points), etc. Later in the evening, she taught us a Scottish folk dance - it's called Gay Gordons (apparently the easiest, but I kept stepping on my partner's foot; not very graceful obviously). Imagine dancing (or at least trying to) at a place surrounded by snow-capped mountains and beautiful lakes. You should try it.

Take dance lessons, or never dance again. Haha! My new friend from Brazil!

If you're planning to book for a Highlands tour, ask for Allison - you won't regret it!

p.s. I'm sending the first photo for a competition entry, it would make me very very grateful if you could go to this link and help me vote! It takes just one simple click, no registration or anything! Thank you so much!
