Empty morning streets
I went out with Seow Wei and Yi Ying today, and we had a friendly photoshoot. Look out for the next posts to see them! :)
Also, I finally baked pork chops for dinner, served with mashed sweet potato. Super yums - if you don't believe me, ask Eunice!

We didn't have roasts for dinner today
Smoked salmon with usuyaki tamago (Japanese thin omelette) and herb butter and garlic rice |
I had a long afternoon nap and I overslept past our usual dinner time (because Phanit kept me awake till 5 a.m. last night), so I decided that we didn't have enough time to use the oven. Instead, I made Eunice and myself a fusion dinner, using the smoked salmon I bought from Tesco on my way back to her place this morning. The omelette was surprisingly a success! I added honey in the egg mix so it tasted similar to the sweet egg wraps you get at Japanese restaurants.
I also started packing since it's just a few days away to the end of my vacation, and I managed to sort out my boxing day fashion finds:
Stuff for myself and presents for friends |
Anyway, tomorrow's a photoshoot day out with some Seow Wei and Yi Ying, need to rest now or I'll be late! x

Roast pork with stuffings
Phanit can cook
I've been away at a friend's place for sleepover and a good catch up, and I was treated with the finest of meals.

Stuffings for our chicken |
I helped out with salting and stuffing the chicken! |
In the oven the fat bird goes |
Voila! Slightly burnt skin, but bam! Super juicy inside |

My third umbrella here broke today
My friends and I decided to do boxing day shopping together, so we gathered at Seow Wei's place the night before and played card games while we ate pre-cooked tikka masala meals for dinner. Bong and Daniel rented bicycles, but we girls got there on foot. Although it wasn't really a long walk, the weather was not very pleasant.
Boats still busy and running on christmas |
but the streets were quiet |
Reason for the day out |
Some tube stations closed on boxing day |
Found him while at Oxford Street - he's got some sick skills! |
Thinking about it, it has been some time since I last played music. |

My Old Dutch
When you have friends studying at the LSE, you know that you are bound to have at least a meal together at My Old Dutch when you visit them. Since the day I saw Seow Wei's photos of the pancakes, I've always wanted to try them out - and so she brought me there yesterday.
Eunice and Daniel shared the savoury smoked salmon pancake |
Yi Ying had the traditional poffertjes |
while I had the berry fruit compote waffles |
I'm definitely going there again for a second round, perhaps on another Monday when all pancakes are served at only £5.

Borough Market: Round 1
Everything smelled and looked so good! I love this place so much that I decided that I would come here every time I visit London. I had a 4-course meal at the price of one if I had it at a restaurant.
For starters, I had fresh oysters. It was £5.50 for 2 medium rocks and 2 medium natives.
To finish off, I had a small cup of mulled cider for £2.50.
Tadaa! In total, that's £15.50 for a complete, satisfying meal.
I also bought a set of handmade chutney from the market for my uncle, I hope he likes them. :)
p.s. Merry christmas everyone! xxx

Super fresh and juicy! |
For my main course, I had the best duck sandwich for only £5.
I love this! It's a must-try! |
Dessert was chocolate éclair for £2.50.
Perfect for a cold day |
